BOARD MEETING STUDENT, FACULTY

AND COMMUNITY AWARDS

March 6, 2009

The students selected to receive the “Terrific Tiger Award” have been selected based on service to others, leadership and scholarship.

 The following students are being recognized as recipients of the “Terrific Tiger Award.”

 

ALMA SCHRADER ELEMENTARY - Connor Rose Murphy, Grade 4, Daughter of Ken and Deneke Murphy
 
Connor serves as a Character Council Ambassador and is also a Tiger Buddy to a younger student. Connor unselfishly gives up her free time to take on responsibilities such as helping with recycling and being a peer mentor.  She was recognized by three different teachers as displaying outstanding character.

 

BLANCHARD ELEMENTARY – River Ketcherside, Grade 4, Son of Mike and Laura Ketcherside

River comes to school with one goal and that is to learn. He enjoys being challenged and then meets and exceeds those goals. River has a passion for reading that is recognized by his classmates, which motivates them to read.  He also practices good social skills and resists peer pressure. He gets along with the other students and is willing to help in any way he can.

                                                                                                         

CLIPPARD ELEMENTARY – Garrett Jones, Grade 4, Son of Chris and Michelle Jones

Garrett always has a smile on his face. He is eager to help with anything. Garrett tries hard and has made HUGE progress since kindergarten. He is a very polite and conscientious and always wants to do the right thing.

                                                                                                                       

FRANKLIN ELEMENTARY – Turma Asokan, Grade 1, Daughter of Vasudevan and Geetha Asokan
 
Turma is very polite and respectful of others. She always turns her homework in on time and puts great effort into her work.  Her work is always neat.  Turma is always willing to help others.

                                                           

JEFFERSON ELEMENTARY – Allie Tillotson, Pre-K, Daughter of Aaron and Emily Tillotson

Allie is always polie and eager to learn. She follows directions and is kind to her friends.

    

                                                      

CENTRAL MIDDLE SCHOOL – Safia Seidu-Sofo, Grade 5, Daughter of Seidu and Samankina Seidu-Sofo

Safia is always helpful, generous, and willing to share with others. She follows instructions and always responds with perfect manners. She gives 100% to all she does and it shows in her work and her relations with others.

 

CAPE CENTRAL JUNIOR HIGH – Aaron and Alex Mehner, Grade 7, Sons of John and Kristy Mehner

Aaron and Alex are extraordinary twins. They are both conscientious students. Both boys are leaders in the Change of Heart Program and they set the model for student behavior. Both have wonderful senses of humor and are a real joy to get to know.  These young men exemplify by word and deed what it truly means to be a Terrific Tiger.

 

CAPE CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL - Sami Gross, Grade 12, Daughter of David and Robyn Gross
 
Sami is a student who gives 100% to whatever she does.  She is always prepared and wants to go above and beyond what is asked of her. She maintains a pleasant personality and is well received among her peers.

 

ALTERNATIVE EDUCATION CENTER -- Jessie Smith, Grade 9, Son of Bill and Norma Mungle
 
Jessie is a hard worker and is always on task. He is very polite to not only the staff but to other students. He can be counted on to do the right thing.  He is always willing to help others and is a good role model.

The students selected to receive the “Terrific Tiger Award” have been selected based on service to others, leadership and scholarship.

 

The following students are being recognized as recipients of the “Terrific Tiger Award.”

 

ALMA SCHRADER ELEMENTARY - Chasity Sneath, Grade 3, Daughter of Harrison and Felicia Saxon

Chasity practices good social skills every day. She is unselfish and giving of her time.  She is always willing to share what she has with others.  Chasity has demonstrated concern for the welfare of her fellow students on numerous occasions.  We are proud to recognize her as our “Terrific Tiger”.

BLANCHARD ELEMENTARY - Amanda Stricker, Grade 4, Daughter of Jeff and Bonnie Stricker

Amanda is a terrific student. She is a serious student who always wants to do her best. She is polite, a good listener, and follows instructions. Amanda makes terrific choices each day. 

CLIPPARD ELEMENTARY - Natalie Davis, Grade 4, Daughter of John and Barbara Davis

Natalie always displays all the characteristics of a good citizen.  She is a good role model for others. Natalie is always caring, tries her best, and has a smile on her face.


FRANKLIN ELEMENTARY
 - Stephen White, Grade 4, Son of Angelia Applewhite

Stephen is an awesome student.  He is great in class and consistently follows the rules and completes his assignments. Stephen is a great asset to Franklin Elementary.

JEFFERSON ELEMENTARY - Garrett Fornkohl, Grade K, Son of Rachel Riley

Garrett likes to read and play games.  His favorite author is Dr. Seuss. He is also an amazing artist. Garrett was chosen because he is a wonderful role model to others.  He always treats others with respect and follows directions.  He works hard every day and does his very best. He is definitely a gifted and talented Jefferson Tiger.

CENTRAL MIDDLE SCHOOL - Dymond Gardner, Grade 6, Daughter of Clareon Praction

Dymond stands out in class as a true jewel. She personifies perfect P.A.W. behavior. When others think of Dymond, they think of straight A’s and awesome manners. She also makes herself available to help and mentor others.

CAPE CENTRAL JUNIOR HIGH - James Ellis, Grade 7, Son of Nancy Ellis

James is a member of the Change of Heart team and THRIVE.  He has shown his leadership skills repeatedly by willing to take an active role in each of these organizations. James will ask questions, offer solutions and lend a hand any time it is needed. He has an infectious smile that lights of the halls at CJHS. 

CAPE CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL - Alllison Yuen, Grade 12, Daughter of Benjamin and Celia Yuen

Ali is the type of student teachers relish.  She is inquisitive, thoughtful, and self motivated. Compassion and empathy,  as well as honesty and integrity are characteristics that accurately describe her. Ali has a quiet determination for excellence. She possesses a wonderful sense of humor and a devotion to her studies.

ALTERNATIVE EDUCATION CENTER - Robert Grant, Grade 10, Son of Carla Dickison

Robert is an outstanding your man. He does as he is asked with no hesitation. He has a real concern for his education and speaks in a manner that is an example for all the students. Robert always goes the extra mile and usually has a big smile on his face.  He is a great example of good citizenship.
