Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFJROTC)
The AFJROTC program is a partnership between Central High School and the United States Air Force. It is first and foremost a student development program focused on instilling the values of citizenship, service to community and nation, responsibility, and sense of accomplishment. The program provides opportunity for academic achievement, while also developing life-skills such as leadership, management, communication, responsibility and accountability, health and wellness, and professionalism.
AFJROTC promotes the Air Force values of Integrity First, Service Before Self, and Excellence In All We Do, values that provide a solid framework for life.
While the program is based on a military structure, it is not a military recruitment activity. There is absolutely NO military obligation or pressure to join the military upon enrollment or completion of the program. The goal of the program is to develop citizens of character dedicated to serving their nation and community. The lessons and life-skills the students learn are just as applicable and important in the civilian world as they are in the military.
AFJROTC will be offered as a comprehensive program including academic courses, voluntary co-curricular activities, community service, and a student-led Corps of Cadets. The program is open to all Central High School students, 9th through 12th grade. Are you up for the challenge? See your counselor to enroll.
