Theresa Taylor who teaches computer classes and college readiness at Cape Central High (CHS) has been chosen as the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) Southeast Missouri Region's Teacher of the Year. Taylor is in her 25th year as a high school business teacher and also serves as the advisor for the CHS Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA).
Mrs. Taylor is a committed life-long learner and has attended over 70 local, state, and national conferences. She has been a presenter at various professional conferences over 40 times. She says the driving force behind her decision to become a teacher was her genuine desire to help others. Mrs. Taylor is well-known for her ability to build strong relationships with students and works hard to create a welcoming classroom where each student feels valued.
