Dear Tiger Families,
Students will not come to school on Friday, January 10, 2025, because a winter storm is expected overnight. Instead, Friday will be an Alternative Methods of Instruction (AMI) day. Teachers worked with students today to get them ready for at-home learning. Students will either do online assignments or finish work that was sent home. Your student’s building will share more information about their assignments.
The National Weather Service says our area may get 5 to 7 inches of snow on Friday, with at least 2 to 3 inches by morning. While weather can change, we want to keep everyone safe and avoid putting buses on slick roads.
Thank you for understanding and working with us. Stay safe and prepare for more winter weather coming soon.
Have a great evening!

The nutrition services staff members at Clippard Elementary have had a blast entertaining students with the infamous elves leading up to the winter break!
Students enjoyed coming to school each day to see what mischief the elves were getting into! This is just another example of how CGPS employees are always looking for little ways to create a positive school environment where students not only learn but have fun.
Happy Holidays from all of us at CGPS!
Winter Break December 23rd - January 6!

👮♂️ Officer Scroggins visited Alma Schrader today, responding to a report of some unruly elves!
The elves had caused a mess in Mrs. Bittle’s classroom and were enjoying a spa day by the time he caught up to them.
Look for a story on KFVS! 🎥

Good morning. The City of Cape Girardeau just issued a precautionary boil water advisory for the City due to a large water main break near the Cape Rock Water Plant.
We wanted to let families know that we have closed the drinking fountains throughout the District and are in the process of delivering bottled water for drinking water.
Our nutrition services staff members will follow the recommended precautions provided by the City for lunch preparation today.
Additionally, the water main break may change a couple of our bus routes until it is fixed. Please be patient with us if buses are running a few minutes behind this afternoon.
More information can be found on the City’s website under Latest News. We will continue to provide updates as we receive more information.
Thank you for your time and have a great day!
