Tracy Retherford, the CGPS English Learner Chair and English Learner Specialist, was honored as one of the finalists for the Southeast Missouri Regional Teacher of the Year! Lachlan Dow will compete in the national Math League competition after placing 11th in the state of Missouri. Lachlan was a Cape Central Middle School student last year and will be attending Terry W. Kitchen Central Junior High in the fall.

Cape Central High's Air Force JROTC has been selected to receive the Distinguished Unit Award. The award is granted to teams ranked in the top 25% of the country based on their co-curricular teams, Corps activities, and community service. We are proud of our cadets for working so hard and representing us well!

CGPS will serve FREE breakfast and lunch for kids during summer school at our summer school sites. This includes every school except for Jefferson Elementary where construction will continue all summer. Families at Jefferson are receiving support through the Tiger Bites program, which is organized by Saint Francis Hospital.
Please make note of the meal opportunities below that are free for ALL children, not just students enrolled in summer school. Adults may purchase meals at the price of $2.35 for breakfast and $4.15 for lunch.

Cape Central High is proud of the Class of 2022! 298 students made up this year's graduating class. Congratulations to our graduates, their families, and all of our faculty and staff as we celebrate another class of Tigers going out into the world to leave their mark!


Cape Central High Graduation is Friday, May 20th at 6:30 p.m. at Tiger Stadium. CHS senior Samuel Hwang will be crossing the stage as the class valedictorian and as a National Merit Scholarship Program award winner. We are incredibly proud of him for being honored by one of the most prestigious scholarship programs in the country!
Samuel will be studying computer science at Harvard. Congratulations, Tiger!
