Ms. Stacey Chicora, a Science teacher at Cape Central High, took a group of nine CHS students to Belize in July on a STEM tour. The group worked for two years, raising money to make the trip possible. They learned so many new things on this trip and had a lasting impact on the environment. The students planted trees in a rainforest previously destroyed by a hurricane, participated in a watershed assessment, and helped with a nurdle beach cleanup. They were also able to zipline through the rainforest, snorkel along the second-largest barrier reef in the world, and take drumming lessons.

Food trucks will be on hand at the September 6th softball game against Jackson. The game gets underway at 4:30 p.m. at the CHS Softball Field.

Thank you to Wings Etc. for hosting this week's Tiger Pride Tailgate. The tailgate will begin at 5:45 p.m. Wear your orange and black and be ready to cheer CT to victory!

Do you know what brings lots of smiles the second week of school? Crispitos! These CHS students were happy to strike a pose with their favorite menu item! Thank you to our food and nutrition services staff members for feeding our students nutritious meals every day.
Plate lunches and breakfasts are free for all students in our district. Extra menu items are available for purchase.

Due to the heat, the football game against St. Charles is moving from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Booster Club's tailgate event will also move back one hour, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

It's Wednesday, which means it is an early-release day! Please be sure to double-check dismissal times and procedures with your child's school.

Our School Resource Officers (SROs) posed for a photo to mark the beginning of a new school year. We are SO excited to have everyone back on campus for the first day of school today! Please post back-to-school pics and use the hashtag #BacktoCT2023 so we can use your pictures today and throughout the school year to celebrate our awesome school district. Welcome back, Tigers! We are so happy you're here! #WeareCT

We are so thankful for the hard work of the Terry W. Kitchen Central Junior High cheerleaders for volunteering their time to pack backpacks full of school supplies for many of our students! We are also grateful to all of our supportive community partners for giving us the opportunity to provide free school supplies to families in need. Also, a huge thank you to our head social worker, Carolyn Thomas, who works tirelessly to serve our students and families.

We took the opportunity at Opening Day to snap a couple pictures of our Tiger staff members who are also Cape Central High alumni! We are missing a few people but take a look at that group! Wow! #WeareCT

We had the best time at our Opening Day event as we welcomed all of our staff members back to prepare for a new school year. A huge thanks to CTA for leading us in Tiger Feud and to the Cape Girardeau Public Schools Foundation for prizes. MRTA donated three $500 checks to educators in our district today! Our keynote speaker, Tara Martin, gave a very inspiring message to all of us to wrap up our morning.
We are so excited to be closing in on the start of the 2023-2024 school year and cannot wait to welcome our staff members back!
It’s always a great day to be a Tiger! 🐅
