Automotive Technology
About the Program:
Community college credit is available. Grades eligible: 11, 12, Adult.
The objective of the Automotive Technology program led by an ASE-certified instructor is to equip students with the comprehensive skills and knowledge necessary to excel as entry-level technicians and industry professionals in the automotive sector. With a curriculum structured around ASE standards and a rigorous two-year program, we aim to cultivate a proficient workforce capable of seamlessly integrating into roles such as lube technicians, tire technicians, apprentice-level technicians, service writers, parts personnel, and beyond. Through hands-on training, classroom learning, and practical application, our program fosters expertise, confidence, and readiness for the dynamic demands of the automotive industry, ensuring graduates are primed to embark on successful career pathways.
*Students who complete both years of the Automotive Technology program may earn hours of advanced standing credit from Mineral Area College.
How to Apply:
Schedule to take the WorkKeys with the CTC assessment office and obtain the required scores:
Graphic Literacy- 4
Applied Math- 4
Workplace Documentation- 5
Complete an application & deposit of $100.
Provide proof of HS graduation (or GED).
Submit the background check.
Class Schedule:
August-May (Following the Cape Girardeau Public Schools Calendar)
Monday-Friday
The morning block schedule is from 8:25 a.m. to 10:50 a.m.
The afternoon block schedule is from 12:05 p.m. to 2:45 p.m.
